One of my favorite islands: Curaçao! Going with friends, your family or your boyfriend? Everything is fun on Curaçao. From chilling at the beach to snorkeling or partying? This little island is very diverse. But it is especially for the ones that love turquoise waters and white beaches as much as me!
But what are you going to explore on this beautiful island with it’s amazing beaches? My top tips:
Mambo beach
Chilling on a sunbed or doing some drinks on the beach all day everyday is certainly possible on this amazing spot! You have different little beach huts on the sand to order drinks or buckets with Bright (must try!). My favorites are Chill, Cabana and Wet & Wild. They also host happy hours between different times so you can hop from one to another! The later it get’s the bigger the party will grow and what is a better way to end the day with some music, a bright in your hand and an amazing sunset?
There are also some fine restaurants around this beach such as a Mexican or Sushi restaurant. You find those above the stores at the back of the beach. Mambo beach also hosts the Sea Aquarium where it is possible to swim with dolphins.
Swimming with Dolphins at the Dolphin Acadamy Curaçao
At first this was not on my list, but after meeting an employee of the sea aquarium by chance we got into a conversation. I indicated that I always had the idea that swimming with dolphins was not animal friendly, so he invited us to come to the Sea Aquarium the next morning.
In my experience, the dolphins in Curaçao are living in great circumstances! They come out on the ocean every day, but love to get back into their ‘home’. The dolphins were born on Curaçao and certainly do not give the impression that they ever want to leave. The practicing and playing with the trainers and people I found very similar to dogs and horses who like to work with people. They were super interested and you could tell by the noises they made that they were excited and happy. In my opinion it was a once in a lifetime experience and it is amazing to get up close to those amazing animals.
