Enchanting temples, bustling cities and crystal clear waters. Thailand, a country steeped in culture and beautiful nature. My trip took us from the bustling streets of Bangkok to the serene coast of Koh Tao.
First stop: Bangkok, the bustling capital that never sleeps. A city full of contrasts, where ancient temples stand next to modern skyscrapers. Lose yourself in the hustle and bustle of Chatuchak’s colorful markets, savor the delectable flavors of Thai cuisine at street stalls, and be enchanted by the serene splendor of Wat Arun and the Royal Palace.
After the excitement of Bangkok we leave by bus towards the south. In Chumphon we boarded the boat that sailed directly to one of the smaller islands, Koh Tao. The water on Koh Tao is crystal clear, a paradise for divers and travelers looking for peace and quiet. The vast white sandy beaches surrounded by lush jungle make this island fantastic, but the reason you really go here is for the diving. Because a friend of ours worked as a diving instructor at Davy Jones Locker, we did our PADI course here and I highly recommended this diving school!
This course contains both theory lessons and lessons in the pool and in the open sea, so a PADI training takes 4 days. In the meantime, there is plenty of room to enjoy the island and all the beaches. Rent a scooter upon arrival at the pier and explore this small island. Be sure to rent a SUP on the beach and explore the sea from the other side. We slept in a thatched hut in the middle of the jungle, which gave this trip an extra dimension!
